about me
Sheikh Zubair
engineering systems, chasing light
Hi! I'm Sheikh Zubair — a software engineer passionate about system design and distributed systems, a machine learning practitioner, and a hobby photographer.
I write about the things I build, read, and break: distributed databases, scalable architectures, machine learning models, and practical AI engineering. Outside the terminal, I wander with a camera in hand, chasing golden hour light and documenting visual stories.
What I write about
- Software Engineering & System Design: Distributed systems, high-throughput architectures, fault tolerance, database internals, and real-world engineering trade-offs.
- Machine Learning & AI: Practical ML systems, foundation models, paper breakdowns, fine-tuning, and AI infrastructure in production.
- Photography: Visual diaries, landscape perspectives, street frames, and thoughts on visual storytelling.
